August 1, 2018, Kokhanok Man Camp- Kokhanok. The 2018 work season kicked off in full swing for APC subsidiaries in early June, and has been rolling full steam ahead since. Bear guards, project observers, camp services, marine services, scientific survey support services and aviation services have resulted in several job opportunities for APC shareholders and residents between Kokhanok, Newhalen and Iliamna.
Shareholders who chose to work the duration of the work season have found themselves putting in long hours and have been rewarded justly for their commitment. The 2018 work season is expected to run through the month of October. This season’s project work-force is at around 50 people total, which translates to a healthy injection into the local economies at Kokhanok and Newhalen-the two villages of Alaska Peninsula Corporation.
