January 22, 2021, Anchorage, AK- The Alaska Peninsula Corporation board of directors has unanimously chosen former board member Gerda Kosbruk to fill the board vacancy left by Trefon Angasan, who passed from COVID-19 on November 29th.
“Gerda was appointed at the board’s discretion and primarily based on the results of the last APC election in October, 2020. Gerda is an experienced board member and team player when it comes to developing strategy for APC. Although we mourn the loss of Trefon, we are excited to have her back on the team”, says Brad Angasan, President of Alaska Peninsula Corporation.
Gerda hails from Port Heiden, AK and previously served on the board of directors from 2008 to 2020, when she was narrowly defeated by incoming new board member Robert Hill of Kokhanok. Gerda also re-assumes her officer’s position as treasurer.
Fred T. Angasan of South Naknek, AK was also elected to the position of chairman and Garith Nielsen of Kokhanok has been elected vice-chairman. Carvel Zimin of South Naknek, AK remains secretary.
